Winter is Kapha time (earth/water element), a season that can support regeneration and healing, but your body needs (and ask) for a rest, you can fix a car only when you turn off the engine.
But unfortunately, for many, the holiday season comes with expectations that exhaust us mentally and physically. On top of this, we are living in very shaky times.
So maybe it’s time to stop for a moment and reflect on how you can adjust the ‘tradition’ to your needs.
Giving yourself the permission to give less to prioritise your wellbeing is a great way to model boundaries and self-love to your loved ones.
Be willing to disappoint others, that’s part of self-care.
Remember, taking care of yourself doesn’t mean ‘me first’ it means ‘me too’.
